Blend: 40% Touriga Nacional, 39% Alicante Bouschet and 21% Aragonez (Tempranillo).

Vintage: 2011

Identity: 2011 vintage is one of the best Portugal has ever seen. It is at the same time a very special one for us. It is the one with David Booth, a founding partner, our viticulturist, an incredible human being and most of all a great friend. This is the result when all things align, even if it is for such a brief moment. See you soon Gardener! YOUR TEAM

Tasting Notes: Concentrated dark violet color. Generous nose with very intense aroma of crushed blackberries and blueberries. Complexity comes from deep floral scents and toasted barrel notes. Powerful mouthfeel from firm very ripe tannins and a finish that is complex and sustained.

Service and Pairing: Serve at 16º C and enjoy with roasted red meat or game that has been lightly caramelized and served with black fruit jelly. Match also with a powerful Portuguese cheese from Azeitão or a Roquefort

Alcohol: 14.5%/Vol.

Appellation: Vinho Regional Alentejano.

Vineyard Management: Sustainable agriculture,  yield is controlled and quality improved by removal of secondary shoots, and bunch thinning. Bunches are selectively handpicked into small boxes at the peak of tannin ripeness.

Vinification and Ageing: All bunches are passed over a sorting table and subjected to intensive quality control. The grapes are gently crushed and moved by gravity into temperature regulated vats. Both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation occur naturally with no inoculation. The post fermentation maceration on skins lasted for 28 days. Ageing for 18 months in new French oak barrels.
